Head of KeyCorp Mutual Fund Unit Quits to Form His Own Firm

W. Christopher Maxwell has quit KeyCorp's mutual fund business after four years to start his own business, a company spokeswoman confirmed.

Mr. Maxwell, who was senior managing director and head of KeyCorp Mutual Fund Advisors, left last month to start Chris Maxwell Enterprises, based in Maryland. While the nature of the business could not be learned by press time, the spokeswoman said KeyCorp is a client of Mr. Maxwell's company.

Kathleen Dennis, senior vice president for mutual funds, has assumed his duties at KeyCorp.

Mr. Maxwell, who previously spent 10 years with two mutual fund units of Chase Manhattan Corp., could not be reached for comment.
