Chase Manhattan Corp. on Monday realigned some parts of its global investment bank.

The changes, including the creation of several new industry groups, were announced in a memorandum from vice chairman James B. Lee.

Chase integrated several real estate finance efforts with related businesses. For instance, real estate syndicated finance became part of global structured finance, under Peter Gleysteen. Chase also created a real estate finance council, chaired by Joe DeLuca, to monitor the bank's exposure to the sector and review product strategies.

The bank created a group serving consumer product companies in eastern and southern states. Also, the auto, trucking, and rails group was combined with aerospace and shipping under a new banner-global transportation-headed
