Short Takes: Philadelphia Law Firm Hires 3 from Rival

Dechert Price & Rhoads, a Philadelphia law firm, has wooed three lawyers from a rival firm to its investment management practice in Washington.

The additions bring the practice to 50 lawyers in New York, Washington, Boston, Philadelphia, and London.

Jane A. Kanter, Beth-ann Roth, and Daphne D. Tippens joined the firm from Katten Muchin & Zavis in Washington. Ms. Kanter was a partner in the firm, and Ms. Roth and Ms. Tippens were associates.

Barton J. Winokur, chairman of Dechert Price & Rhoads, said it plans to continue expanding its investment practice in the United States and abroad. He noted that Peter Astleford, a London-based lawyer with the firm, had recently been elected a partner.
