Compass Banks Names Executive

SOUTHWEST Compass Banks of Texas Inc., Houston, a unit of Compass Bancshares, Birmingham, Ala., has hired Jean K. Pettit and Sheri L. Parker as vice presidents of residential lending. Ms. Pettit was a senior loan officer in the residential and construction lending division at First Interstate Bank in Houston. Earlier she was a relationship manager at Chase Manhattan Bank in Houston. Ms. Parker was an assistant vice president of private client services at First Interstate Bank for the south Texas region. Frank J. Varisco was hired as vice president of commercial banking in College Station. He is responsible for middle-market companies, builders, and professional groups. He was a vice president of commercial lending at First American Bank in Bryan/College Station, Tex.
