In Brief: Aide Follows Alvarez From Housing Post

The Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight lost another high-level executive in the game of musical chairs that began after the presidential election.

Eugene Carlson, who had been director of public affairs at the oversight office, last week followed his former boss, Aida Alvarez, to the Small Business Administration.

Ms. Alvarez, the office's first director, was named SBA administrator this year.

There's still no word from the White House about who it will nominate to replace Ms. Alvarez as head of the oversight office, which monitors the fiscal safety of the mortgage agencies, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

Before he joined the mortgage agency regulator, Mr. Carlson was a reporter at The Wall Street Journal.

He will be associate director for communications and public liaison at the SBA.
