Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi Names Executive

Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi Ltd. has named Tetsuo Shimura as chief executive officer of its North American headquarters and chairman of Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi Trust Co.

He succeeded Shin Nakahara, who has returned to Tokyo as senior managing director responsible for corporate planning for the $675 billion-asset bank, the world's largest.

Mr. Shimura, a managing director, oversaw the human resources, economic research, internal inspection, and credit examination divisions in Tokyo.

Now based in New York, he will be responsible for activities in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
