NEW ENGLAND

Naugatuck (Conn.) Savings Bank said its chairman, Richard D. Coe, will retire Sept. 12, leaving the bank 35 years to the day after he joined it in 1962 as a management trainee.

Mr. Coe, 61, retired June 6 as president and chief executive officer, posts he had held since 1980. Mark C. Yanarella, 48, succeeded him.

The bank said it traditionally does not have a chairman and does not expect to elect a new one. Naugatuck Savings has $363.3 million of assets.
