Tech Bytes: NetDox to Use RSA Encryption Tool Kit

NetDox Inc. said it has licensed RSA Data Security Inc.'s Bsafe cryptographic tool kit for use in the DoxIt digital messaging service.

Slated for wide commercial availability this fall, DoxIt is designed to ensure secure, global delivery of documents over the Internet.

The system incorporates data encryption, authentication, and verification capabilities. NetDox said it is the first to fully exploit the potential of public key cryptography systems by combining RSA technology with processes necessary for commercial-quality identity authentication.

"RSA has done an outstanding job gaining industry acceptance as the de facto standard for encryption and building public trust for its technology," said Patrick J. Haynes 3d, chairman of NetDox, which was founded two years ago by Deloitte & Touche and Thurston Group of Chicago. "When combined with our other services, they provide a key element that helps us guarantee the security and reliability that are the cornerstones of our business."

"We anticipate that this innovative new offering will take digital delivery to the next level," said Jim Bidzos, president of RSA, a subsidiary of Security Dynamics Technologies Inc., Bedford, Mass.
