Assets of money market mutual funds rose 0.53% to $1.036 trillion in the week that ended Sept. 10, the Investment Company Institute reported.
Funds for retail investors held $682.96 billion of the total, up 0.42%. That includes $560.87 billion in taxable portfolios, up $2.65 billion, and $122.09 billion in tax-exempt portfolios, a $180 million increase.
Assets in funds for institutional investors totaled $352.65 billion, a rise of 0.75%. Taxable portfolios held $316.48 billion, up $3.07 billion. Tax-exempt portfolios had $36.17 billion of assets, down $451 million.
The institute surveys 1,000 money market funds each week.
