MasterCard Hires Senior Marketing Exec from Ad Agency

MasterCard International has appointed Debra M. Coughlin senior vice president, global advertising and marketing services.

Ms. Coughlin, 40, will oversee all advertising and marketing communication, manage marketing communication strategies, and develop global advertising programs for the Purchase, N.Y.-based association.

Ms. Coughlin is to report to Joseph V. Tripodi, executive vice president, global marketing.

Most recently, Ms. Coughlin was a senior partner and management director at the J. Walter Thompson advertising agency. There she was responsible for Warner Lambert's leading brands, including Zantac, Listerine, and Lubriderm.

Before that, she was senior vice president and global group director at Young & Rubicam, New York, where she managed accounts for Colgate-Palmolive International and Kraft/General Food.

Ms. Coughlin has a master's degree in business administration, with a concentration in marketing and finance, from Columbia University's Graduate School of Business.
