In Brief: Okla. Bank Set to Buy 10 NationsBank Sites

BancFirst Corp. has agreed to buy 10 branches in rural Oklahoma from North Carolina's NationsBank Corp. for $158.5 million.

The branches would give $1.3 billion-asset BancFirst an additional $148 million of deposits. The acquisition, which awaits approval by shareholders and regulators, is expected to close in March.

BancFirst already operates 52 branches in 26 Oklahoma communities.

"We are excited about this purchase," said David Rainbolt, president and CEO of BancFirst. "It's a good strategic fit for BancFirst and the communities."
