Porges/Hudson Closes Doors; Partners Take Jobs at 2 Firms

The consulting firm Porges/Hudson Marketing Inc. has disbanded, and partners K. Shelly Porges and Patricia P. Hudson have moved into new jobs.

Ms. Porges joined Money Store Inc. as executive vice president in charge of new business initiatives. Ms. Hudson is a vice president in charge of new businesses at Fair, Isaac & Co.

"We left for different personal reasons," said Ms. Hudson, who joined Fair, Isaac about two months ago. "It was simply time for a change."

She said the decision to close the seven-year-old firm had nothing to do with increased competition in the credit card consulting business in which it specialized.

About two-thirds of their work was card-related. Ms. Hudson said she and Ms. Porges also served telecommunications, mortgage, and utility companies. Porges/Hudson helped to launch the Bell Canada MasterCard, which is issued by Bank of Montreal. It also did research for First Data Corp. in the project that led to USA Value Exchange, a data base marketing and shopper loyalty program for retail merchants.

The partners met when they both worked at Bank of America. Ms. Hudson, who was in charge of electronic banking there, had previously worked at Citibank and Westamerica Bank.

Ms. Porges had previously worked at American Express for 10 years.
