PNC Bank Corp. has added another investment firm to its PNC Asset Management Group stable.
The deal for Stolper & Co., a wealth management firm in Edgemont, Pa., closed in April, but was not disclosed until Tuesday. Terms of the transaction were not revealed. But observers said the firm, which managed $1 billion in assets, probably fetched $20 million.
PNC said it integrated Stolper & Co. with its wealth management business in a new firm, dubbed Hawthorn. It manages $10 billion of assets and oversees an additional $7 billion in custodial accounts.
PNC Asset Management Group is the holding company for seven registered investment advisers and investment asset service providers. All told, PNC Bank Corp. managed $122 billion of assets as of June 30.
