State Street Corp. is rolling out an Internet-based information service that lets clients view account information and import data files via a Web browser.
State Street claims it is one of the first banks to offer such a product to the institutional market.
One of the pilot users is Boston-based First Security Services Corp., the largest firm of its kind in New England.
The system is based on State Street's Prime-Meridian technology, which was introduced last year at the Treasury Management Association conference in Atlanta. The technology facilitates information gathering and short-term liquidity management in a multibank, multicurrency environment.
State Street Prime-Meridian Internet is slated to be formally introduced at the Treasury Management Association conference next month in San Francisco.
