Capital Briefs: CRA Ratings Listed On the Fed's Web Site

The Federal Reserve Board's Web site now includes Community Reinvestment Act ratings of state member banks.

CRA data can be accessed by bank name, city and state, exam date, and rating category. Ratings from July 1990 to July 1996 are available. The site, which will be updated monthly, also shows the institutions to be examined under CRA in the current quarter. Finally, approved strategic plans under CRA are available.

Another addition is the Fed's recent controversial report to Congress on funds availability and check fraud; legal interpretations may be accessed. The site also has a link to the Fed's National Information Center on banking.

The Fed's Internet address is http://www.bog.frb.fed.us.
