In Brief: Cushnoc Shareholders Vote to Sell for $4.3M

Cushnoc Bank and Trust shareholders last week agreed to sell the Augusta, Maine, bank to Northeast Bancorp, Auburn, for $4.3 million.

Cushnoc would be merged into Northeast Bank, which now has no presence in Augusta, the state capital, though it has branches outside the city.

"We believe this merger provides a great opportunity," said James D. Delamater, Northeast's president and chief executive officer. Augusta is "a natural extension of our market area."
