Short Takes: Money Fund Assets Increase 0.57% in Week

Assets invested in money market mutual funds rose 0.57%, to $1.0581 trillion, in the week that ended Nov. 12, the Investment Company Institute reported.

Portfolios for institutional investors racked up much of the increase. Their assets jumped 0.97%, to $364.7 billion. That includes $327.92 billion in taxable funds, up $3.33 billion, and $36.79 billion in tax-exempt funds, up $162 million.

On the retail side, assets climbed 0.37%, to $693.42 billion. Taxable funds held $570.51 billion, up $2.31 billion in the week. Tax-exempt funds held $122.91 billion, up $212 million.
