Short Takes: Deloitte Financial Planner Joins National City

National City Corp. hired a consultant from Deloitte & Touche to work in its new financial planning group.

Christopher P. Bray joined National City's financial consulting practice this week in Cleveland as a vice president to work with affluent small- business owners and corporate executives. Most recently, he was the director of estate and succession planning services in the Cleveland office of Deloitte & Touche.

National City created its financial planning group this year as a division of its private client group, which manages $21.9 billion of assets.

The bank is considering having its 15 financial consultants, including Mr. Bray, join the 18 planners working for Sterling Ltd. Co., an investment boutique for wealthy individuals that National City announced it will acquire in December.

Mr. Bray is a member of several trade groups, including the Akron Estate Planning Council, American Institute of CPAs, Estate Planning Council of Cleveland, Family Firm Institute, Offshore Institute, Ohio Venture Capital Association, and the Tax Club of Cleveland.
