Smart Bits: Software Link Eases Internet Authorizations

Tellan Software announced the availability of a link between PC Authorize, its credit card system for computerized merchants, and the Microsoft Merchant Server.

The package simplifies the process for a merchant-typically one running an Internet business using the Microsoft system-to obtain credit and charge card authorizations.

Tellan issued the product in a "special edition" called PC Authorize for Microsoft Merchant Server. The company said it does not require customization, and can be hooked up in minutes.

"Merchant Server already offers a variety of ways to handle payments, and Tellan Software offers another value-added solution for authorizing credit card payments from an Internet storefront," said Hank Vigil, general manager of Microsoft's Internet commerce group.

"PC Authorize opens up Microsoft Merchant Server to all the major bank networks and merchant service providers," said Tellan president Donald Neff. "Tellan has been providing Internet commerce solutions for several years."
