Farmington Savings Names Executive

NEW ENGLAND

Farmington Savings Bank in Connecticut hired Bryan P. Bowerman to be president and chief operating officer.

He is currently president and CEO of Bank of Southington, Conn., which has $130 million of assets. Farmington Savings is a $431 million-asset bank.

Mr. Bowerman is to begin his new job Jan. 1 when John W. Grouten, Farmington's chairman and CEO, relinquishes the title of president. Mr. Grouten said he expects to retire from Farmington Savings Jan. 1, 1999.
