Card Briefs: Echo Promotes Exec Who Ran U-Haul Account

Electronic Clearing House Inc. said it has promoted Patricia Atlas to vice president of corporate program management.

Ms. Atlas joined the credit card processing company, known as Echo, in September 1996. As director of program management she was responsible for the U-Haul International account.

Before that she was an operations manager for Bank of America at its San Francisco headquarters.

Echo president and chief operating officer Larry Thomas said Ms. Atlas will play a role in developing business opportunities "that build on our core credit card processing business."

Besides its payment services to more than 8,000 retail merchants, Echo provides inventory tracking services to thousands of U-Haul dealers. Its Computer Based Controls subsidiary makes point of sale hardware.
