In Brief: Fannie Mae Portfolio Growing at 16% Rate

Fannie Mae's mortgage portfolio grew $4.2 billion in November, at a 16.4% annual growth rate, to $314.2 billion.

Fannie Mae bought $8.2 billion in November, compared with $7.6 billion in October. Portfolio liquidations totaled $3.9 billion, unchanged from October.

The agency committed to buy $5 billion of mortgages, after committing to buy $8.9 billion in October.

Fannie Mae's mortgage-backed securities outstanding increased by $5.6 billion in November to $702.4 billion, an 9.7% annualized growth rate.
