Capital Briefs: E-Theft Costs $2.4 Billion a Year, Report Says

U.S. financial firms are losing up to $2.4 billion a year to computer theft, according to a report issued Thursday by Rep. Henry Gonzalez, the House Banking Committee's ranking Democrat. The report stated that financial institutions, despite increasing use of Internet transactions, have not installed software necessary to fend off computer fraud.
