Wachovia Corp Names Executive

SOUTHEAST

Wachovia Corp., Winston-Salem, N.C., has promoted senior vice presidents Albert L. Butler 3d, Charles E. Hobbs, John J. Milani, and Roger C. Shealy to group executive.

Mr. Butler is manager of North Carolina middle-market loan administration. He joined Wachovia in 1980 as a personal banker in Charlotte, and in 1989 he was promoted to portfolio manager in general loan administration, based in Winston-Salem.

He was later named senior vice president and regional loan administration manager.

Mr. Hobbs is manager of computer services in the information services group for Wachovia Operational Services Corp., a post he has held since last year. He joined Wachovia in 1978 as a programmer, and in 1987 he became applications group manager in the information services group.

Mr. Milani is treasurer for Wachovia Bank in Winston-Salem and manager of the funds management group.

He joined the bank in 1965 as an operations officer in Atlanta, and has held such posts as assistant controller, strategic planner, and assistant portfolio manager.

Mr. Shealy is manager of management accounting, responsible for cost accounting, financial planning, internal financial reporting, and performance measurement. He joined the bank in 1973 as an auditor.

Meanwhile, Wachovia promoted vice presidents R. Geoffrey Imboden, Alan L. Johnson, and Jay D. Weir to senior vice president.

Mr. Imboden is manager of financial information systems for Wachovia's control group, Mr. Johnson is a senior investment professional in capital markets, and Mr. Weir is an audit director.
