RSA Data Security Hires Chief Operating Officer

Beefing up its management team, RSA Data Security Inc. has named Albert E. Sisto to the newly created post of chief operating officer. A 20-year veteran of the technology industry, Mr. Sisto will have broad responsibilities that include developing an expanded network of partnerships and leading the engineering, marketing, sales, and support organizations.

Though it is a dominant provider of data encryption technology and a household name in electronic commerce circles, RSA has remained a relatively small California outpost of its Massachusetts-based parent, Security Dynamics Technologies Inc.

Mr. Sisto previously headed Documagix Inc., a personal document management company, and Barneyscan, a manufacturer of color software and scanner systems. Both were acquired by larger companies.
