Electronic Bill Presentment Panel Formed

CORTE MADERA, Calif.-The Online Banking Association said it has formed a special committee on electronic bill presentments and payments and 18 member banks have joined.

Responding to a flurry of activity in the bank technology industry typified by the formation of MSFDC by Microsoft Corp. and First Data Corp., "our goal is to make sure that banks are not only included but that they take a leadership role in developing and promoting services for their billing customers," said association executive director James M. Shelton.

Members of the committee include Jane Wallace and Brian Kroll of Bank of America, Alfred Dominick of M&I Data Services, Gary Facer of Zions First National Bank, Dan Schutzer of Citibank, Janey Place of NationsBank, and Vivian Lytle of First Union National Bank.

Their first meeting was set for March 4, just before a two-day Electronic Bill Presentment and Payment symposium at the Hyatt Regency Burlingame, near San Francisco airport. Edward Horowitz, executive vice president of Citicorp, is the scheduled keynote speaker March 5.
