Thomson Financial Acquires Fiduciary Communications Co.

Thomson Financial Services said it had acquired Fiduciary Communications Co. from Fiduciary Communications Group.

Thomson, parent of American Banker, said the acquisition widens the array of services it offers to debt issuers, bankers, and investors.

Fiduciary Communications Co., established in 1986, is a leading provider of financial disclosure information, serving more than 300 bond trustees and issuers.

It will become part of Thomson's American Banker-Bond Buyer division.

"Fiduciary's business and ours are entirely complementary," said Gerald Mintz, president of the division. "Combined, they will offer bond trustees and issuers with every conceivable means by which to communicate developments about their bonds to investors-in print and electronically."

William Ardrey, executive vice president of Fiduciary, said the deal "will create added value for our customers."
