BankFirst Ohio Taps Nicholson As Zanesville Bank's CEO

BancFirst Ohio Corp., Zanesville, said James H. Nicholson was named president, chief executive officer, and a director of its First National Bank of Zanesville.

Mr. Nicholson follows David A. Arnold, who resigned his positions at First National to assume full-time responsibilities for risk management and compliance at the holding company. Mr. Nicholson had been executive vice president of First National since May and chief operating officer since August; he has been its controller and chief financial officer since he joined the bank in 1990. At the holding company he remains vice president and secretary.

Mr. Arnold had been vice president of the corporation since 1991 and president and chief executive of First National Bank since last February. Before joining the bank, he was executive vice president and chief administrative officer of Bay Bank and Trust Co. in Panama City, Fla. Between 1980 and 1988 he was executive vice president of Commercial National Bank, Tiffin, Ohio.

In a separate announcement, BancFirst Corp. named Michael S. Kappas as vice president of operations and systems and Ingrid H. Phillips as vice president of human resources.

Mr. Kappas is responsible for operations and information systems in all of BancFirst's units. In 1989 he joined the company's County Savings Bank as chief financial officer; in 1993 he was promoted to vice chairman and executive vice president.

Ms. Phillips is responsible for the development and implementation of human resources policies and procedures. In 1984 she joined County Savings as assistant controller and director of human resources; in 1994 she was named controller and treasurer as well as senior vice president of operations.

BancFirst Ohio, with $1 billion of assets, also owns Bellbrook Community Bank.
