Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce's processing venture with Fiserv now has a name, Intria Items Inc., and an executive has moved over from the bank to run it.

The unit will process checks and other items for the $128.8 billion- asset bank and, ultimately, other financial institutions. It's a joint venture of the bank's wholly owned subsidiary Intria Corp. and of Fiserv Solutions of Canada, a subsidiary of Fiserv Inc., Milwaukee.

A bank spokesman said Intria Corp. will offer back-office services including network management, item processing, and telecommunications to financial institutions and other sorts of companies.

Burt Napier, the bank's executive vice president of operations and technology, will also be chief executive officer of Intria Corp. ScotiaBank of Toronto is expected to join the company as a minority partner.
