Capital Briefs: OCC Puts List of Industry's Banished On-Line

The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency has posted on its Web site the names of more than 200 people who have been banned from the banking industry.

The list, which was posted on the Internet last week, includes bank officers and employees, controlling shareholders, and independent contractors such as attorneys, accountants, and appraisers.

The OCC is planning to list the names of people who have been subject to other enforcement actions, such as civil money penalties, later this year.

The OCC's Internet address is http://www.occ.treas.gov.
