Capital Briefs: OCC Posts Community Group Data Base

The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency posted a data base of community and consumer groups on its Web site Thursday.

The list comprises basic information, such as contact names, addresses, phone numbers, and the organizations' missions. Nearly 500 groups are listed, and the agency invited organizations not listed to register by electronic mail.

Bankers can use the data base to identify community development partners and assess community needs, the OCC said.

The OCC's Internet address is http://www.occ.treas.gov.
