Washington Mutual Names Executive

Washington Mutual Savings Bank, Seattle, elected two new directors as a result of its December acquisition of American Savings Bank.

David Bonderman, 54, and J. Taylor Crandall, 42, both served on the American Savings Bank board.

Mr. Bonderman, a principal and general partner of TPG Partners of Fort Worth, was previously chief operating officer of the Robert M. Bass Group Inc.

Mr. Crandall is chief financial officer and vice president of Keystone Inc. and president and director of Acadia MGP Inc.

Bank of the West, San Francisco, has hired three local bank executives to be vice presidents.

Terri L. Auwaerter, who was vice president of commercial loans at Business and Professional Bank, is now a corporate banking officer.

Ms. Auwaerter had been credit administrator for the health-care and real estate division of Dowdell Corp. Before that, she was a problem-loan collection officer at Bank of America's commercial banking division.

Daniel P. Jozefov, who was a vice president at Mitsui Nevitt Capital Corp., is a corporate banking officer.

Mr. Jozefov had been an assistant vice president in the financial administration unit of BankAmerilease, a Bank of America division.

Before that, he was a senior tax accountant at Bankers Leasing, a Citicorp unit.

Nathan J. Cox, who was vice president and relationship manager in Wells Fargo & Co.'s commercial banking group, is now a marketing portfolio officer.

Before joining Wells Fargo, Mr. Cox was the manager of sales training at the Ernest & Julio Gallo Winery.
