Card Briefs: Deal to Allow Cash Advances at Truck Stop ATMs

Concord EFS Inc. has arranged with Comdata Corp., a Ceridian Corp. payment services subsidiary, to provide cash advances through Concord's network of automated teller machines at truck stops.

About 500,000 drivers with Comchek cards will have access to the automated cash advances. They currently can get advances only at truck stop fuel counters.

Drivers can receive both cash advances, which Comdata calls Cash-On- Card, and payroll services, known as Express Cash.

Concord said the service has been endorsed by members of its national ATM network, including All American Plazas Inc., Burns Brothers Inc., Knox Oil of Texas Inc., Petro Shopping Centers, Pilot Corp., Travel Ports of America Inc., and Truckstops of America.
