FDIC Makes On-Line Banking Exam Rules Public

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corp.'s new procedures for safety-and-soundness examinations in electronic banking are available to the general public.

The FDIC, which in late January became the first banking regulator to issue exam procedures for new technologies such as Internet banking and stored-value cards, initially shared the 43-page guidelines with examiners only. Copies are available on the FDIC Web site, http://www.fdic.gov, or by calling 1-800-276-6003.
