In Briefs: Norwest Buying Back Another 2 Million Shares

Norwest Corp.'s board of directors has authorized the repurchase of up to 2 million shares of the company's common stock.

Norwest already has a 3.1 million-share buyback program in place. The company has approximately 374 million common shares outstanding.

The repurchased stock will be used for the conversion of convertible securities, acquisitions and other corporate purposes.
