Czarnecki Picked to Head Trust And Investment for M&T Bank

M&T Bank, Buffalo, has promoted Mark J. Czarnecki to executive vice president of its trust and investment services division.

M&T Bank, formally Manufacturers and Traders Trust Co., is the principal subsidiary of First Empire State Corp.

Mr. Czarnecki succeeds Harry R. Stainrook, 60, who is retiring. Mr. Stainrook is executive vice president of the trust and investment divisions for both First Empire State and M&T Bank.

Mr. Czarnecki, 41, currently a senior vice president, will be responsible for management of financial investments, policy and planning, and the division's operations.

A bank spokeswoman said he will remain as president of M&T Securities, the bank's securities brokerage and investment advisory unit.
