Tech Bytes: Citicorp Exec to Head Trade Group's G-7 Panel

The Online Banking Association has named Citicorp executive Jaithirth "Jerry" Rao chairman of a committee participating in an international electronic commerce project.

Mr. Rao, chairman of Citicorp Development Center Inc., heads what the association calls its G-7 Committee, which will be providing input to the Global Marketplace Project of the Group of Seven industrialized countries. The on-line banking group will focus on Internet financial services and related issues.

Committee meetings have been scheduled April 7-9 at a Group of Seven conference in Bonn, and May 18 during the Online Banking Association's second annual meeting in San Francisco.

Other participating bankers include Edgar Brown, senior vice president, First Union Corp.; Blaise Heltai, senior vice president, Fleet Financial Group; Bruce Luecke, vice president, Banc One Corp.; Beth Mercier, director of electronic delivery, Barnett Banks Inc.; and Rafael Sandana, senior vice president, Wachovia Corp.
