Short Takes: Bank of Boston Hires Private Banker for Conn.

Bank of Boston Corp.'s private banking division has appointed a regional director of investments for southern Connecticut.

James L. Farrell, formerly a senior vice president at Bank of New York, was named a vice president in Bank of Boston's Stamford, Conn., office this month.

Bank of Boston's private banking division also has four other Connecticut offices-in New Haven, Hartford, Avon, and Waterbury. The bank, which manages $21 billion of assets for private clients, also has private bank operations in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Florida and New York.

In Mr. Farrell's place, Bank of New York promoted Joseph Serzan to head its institutional sales division.
