Card Briefs: National Data Gives Ex-General a Top Job

National Data Corp. said it has named Steven L. Arnold, a retired Army lieutenant general who planned and coordinated the ground offensive for Operation Desert Storm, as chief administrative officer.

Gen. Arnold, 57, was commander of the Third United States Army and of Army Forces Central Command. National Data said it chose him for his management expertise and his role in reforming military management after the Vietnam War.

At National Data he is responsible for nonsales activities-human resources, management development, and legal counsel. He reports to Robert A. Yellowlees, chairman and chief executive officer.
