Card Briefs: Chase Converting ATMs from Visa Plus to Cirrus

Chase Manhattan Corp. will convert its automated teller machines from the Visa Plus network to MasterCard's Cirrus network in May.

The move is in concert with a switch from Visa check cards to MasterMoney cards, a decision that followed Chase's merger last year with Chemical Banking Corp., which had chosen the MasterCard brand. Chase has issued two million debit cards. All will bear the Cirrus logo.
