Bank of Boston Hires KeyCorp Veteran to Lead Leasing Unit

Bank of Boston Corp. has hired James D. Westley as president of its BancBoston Leasing division and Joseph Golinski as chief financial officer.

Both are former KeyCorp Leasing Ltd. executives who came from Society Corp. in 1994 in the Society-KeyCorp merger.

Mr. Westley, who reports Oto Edward P. Collins, group executive of Bank of Boston's business credit group, was senior vice president and national sales manager of KeyCorp Leasing. He had been with Society Equipment Leasing Corp.

Joseph Golinski was responsible for funding and information systems at KeyCorp Leasing. He had been CFO of Society Equipment Leasing Corp. for 20 years.

Bank of Boston also announced that it had hired Frank Phennicie, Jonathan Hansen, and Keith Hahn as sales executives.

Mr. Phennicie will be eastern regional sales manager, overseeing 13 sales representatives. He had been a national sales manager with American Equipment Leasing and before that had held executive posts in leasing at Hampton Capital Corp., AT&T Capital Corp., and Signal Capital Corp.

Mr. Hansen was hired as western U.S. senior sales executive, responsible for developing relations with high-tech businesses in the West. He was founder, president, and chief financial officer of First Alliance Capital Corp., an equipment and real estate private-placement debt financing company.

Mr. Hahn was hired as eastern U.S. senior sales executive, responsible for originating business in the transportation and rail sectors in the East and with environmental services nationwide. He was vice president of sales at Fleet Management Inc., a unit of Fleet Financial Group, and had been manager of sales and syndication at First Fidelity Leasing Group.
