Capital Briefs: Fed Bars Ex-Miami Banker from Industry

The Federal Reserve Board has banned from banking a former vice president in the Miami office of Banco Ganadero of Bogota, Colombia.

The Fed charged that Juan Echeverri accepted bribes in exchange for his work on trade finance transactions. He pleaded guilty to similar criminal charges in 1995.

Mr. Echeverri cannot work for another bank or vote as a stockholder of any depository institution without the Fed's prior consent.
