Capital Briefs: Fed Schedules Truth-in-Lending Forums

The Federal Reserve Board has scheduled three hearings in June to solicit comments on the Truth-in-Lending Act's disclosure requirements.

The hearings will be held June 3 at the Los Angeles branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, June 5 at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, and June 17 at the Fed's Washington office. Griffith L. Garwood, the Fed's director of consumer and community affairs, will preside over the three sessions.

Congress ordered the Fed to hold hearings by September to collect evidence on whether the law adequately protects home-equity borrowers.
