Sterling Commerce said it has completed an integration of electronic data interchange systems with Oracle Corp.'s EDI Gateway.
The link with Sterling's Gentran:Server Extension, a product of an Oracle alliance initiative, should help the companies' common customers reduce processing times and improve cash flow.
"The integration produces a single, EDI-enabled order management system that links dissimilar applications across the supply chain," said Pat Davis, vice president of business development for Dallas-based Sterling.
Oracle EDI Gateway supports outbound invoices, advance shipping notices, and purchase orders. Its next release will enable collaborative planning and scheduling, among other benefits.
