Japanese Bank Picks CEO for Unionbancal

Unionbancal Corp. said Thursday that it expects that Takahiro Moriguchi, 52, will be confirmed as president and chief executive officer at its May 28 board meeting here.

Minoru Noda, 50, vice chairman and chief credit officer, is expected to assume the additional responsibility of chief financial officer.

Kanetaka Yoshida, 59, president and chief executive officer, and Hiroo Nozawa, 54, deputy chairman and chief operating officer, are expected to resign.

The bank, a unit of Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi Ltd., tied the changes to the parent company's policy of rotating Japanese expatriate executives.
