Short Takes: No Charge at Fidelity To Buy Scudder Funds

Fidelity Investments is now selling Scudder Funds without transaction fees through its mutual fund supermarket, FundsNetwork.

The change, which will allow retail and institutional customers to buy 37 Scudder funds without a $35 fee, became effective May 11.

Scudder Funds have been available through FundsNetwork since 1992.

Of the 3,400 funds available through the supermarket, more than 800 are available without the transaction fee.

Mutual fund companies which choose to go the no-fee route on FundsNetwork pick up the charge themselves in order to make their products more attractive to customers.
