Wachovia Corp. Names Executive

Wachovia Corp., Winston-Salem, N.C., promoted senior vice presidents William B. Langley, Frank D. Robb, and J. Kenneth Torreyson to executive vice president.

Mr. Langley remains general auditor for the holding company and auditor for the lead subsidiary, Wachovia Bank. He joined the latter in 1972 and has held auditor posts for several of Wachovia's regions. In 1983 he moved to Winston-Salem when he was named auditor of the bank, and in 1990 he became general auditor.

Mr. Robb remains manager of information services, where he is responsible for all data processing operations, systems development, network services, business integration project management services, and emerging technologies. He joined the bank in 1974 and has held several operational services posts in Atlanta and Winston-Salem. In 1994 he was promoted to senior vice president/group executive, managing commercial, retail, and operational systems development.

Mr. Torreyson remains corporate director of human resources. He joined the bank in 1972 as a personnel officer and became its personnel director in 1979. He has been corporate director of human resources since 1987.

Meanwhile, Albert J. DeForest 3d was promoted to chief accounting officer for the holding company. He is the manager of corporate accounting and control services. He joined the bank in 1970 as a cost accountant and in 1987 was named its comptroller.

Wachovia Bank promoted John H. Loughridge Jr., a counsel in the legal group, to senior vice president. He joined the bank in 1971 and was elected vice president in 1974.
