In Brief: Former Corestates CFO Joins Philadelphia Firm

Albert W. Mandia, the longtime chief financial officer of CoreStates Financial Corp., has taken a job at American Business Financial Services, a general financial services institution based in a suburb of Philadelphia.

Mr. Mandia, who spent most of his 25 years in banking at CoreStates, resigned from the Philadelphia-based bank April 30, the day that First Union Corp. of Charlotte, N.C., acquired it.

Mr. Mandia joins American Business as an executive vice president in charge of the company's finance, treasury, capital markets, merger and acquisitions, and investor relations departments.

American Business is a diversified financial services holding company that provides investment products and credit services to both consumers and businesses.
