Short Takes: Barclays Unit Expands Latin American Desk

Barclays Capital, the U.S. investment banking subsidiary of London's Barclays Bank, has made four additions to its Latin American trading desk.

Jean-Pierre Lacombe last week joined Barclays as the director in charge of Latin American emerging markets trading. Mr. Lacombe, who will be based in New York, will be responsible for trading all Latin American rate products.

He comes from Lehman Brothers, where he was a senior vice president in charge of Latin American local trading and derivatives.

Barclays also hired Renato Mazzucchelli as an associate director in charge of proprietary and local trading in Brazil; Gerard Ussel as an associate director responsible for proprietary and local trading in Mexico; and Andrew Golub as an associate in charge of the funding of Latin American currency and cash trading.
