In Brief: 30-Year Fixed Mortgage Rate Drops to 6.94%

The average 30-year fixed mortgage rate reached a five- month low of 6.94% for the week ended June 19, according to Freddie Mac's primary mortgage market survey.

This was down 10 basis points from the preceding week's average of 7.04% and 67 basis points from the year-earlier week.

Fees and points averaged 1.0, compared with 1.3 five months previously.

One year, Treasury-indexed, adjustable-rate mortgages averaged 5.68% for the week, down 3 basis points from the week earlier.
